OPST's innovative dual density tips are designed as 8-foot tips that incorporate varying ratios of floating and sinking materials, including options such as a full sink, 4-foot float with 4-foot sink, and a 6-foot sink with a 2-foot float. This versatility enhances performance at all casting angles, ensures rapid sinking to optimal fishing depths, and provides superior control over fly depth. Ideal for targeting structured environments in rivers, such as boulder gardens and cut banks, these tips facilitate efficient depth management.

Each tip is marked with a line ID at the rear, while the corresponding heads feature an ID at the front, allowing for quick identification of connections. Additionally, both ends of our heads and tips are equipped with robust welded loops for seamless rigging.

OPST Line and Tip Recommendation Charts

Commando Heads are shorter, more dense, and have a larger diameter than other skagit lines. Because of their very short length, a much higher proportion of the total line/head length is on the surface of the water in the back-cast, D- or V-Loop, thus providing more line adehsion. This enables you to use a much lighter grain/gram weight when compared to longer skagit heads. As a rule of thumb you can drop the line weight by appx. 5/6 Grams or 75/90 grains when moving to a commando system. Please do not pair OPST lines based on rod manufacturer grain windows, unless it specified for Commando Heads.
